About SoundDecoded

With a background in Ethnomusicology and Music Industry, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about music from both sides: as art shaped by culture, history, and human experience, and as something that exists within a much larger industry. But before any of that, I’m simply someone who really loves music.

SoundDecoded grew out of that curiosity. It’s a place to slow songs down and look a little closer at what’s living between the lines: the lyrics, stories, context, choices, and emotions we sometimes miss when we’re just listening.

These aren’t meant to be definitive explanations of what a song means. Once a song is out in the world, I think part of it belongs to whoever is listening. We bring our own memories, experiences, and questions to it, and sometimes hear things the artist may never have intended.

So think of SoundDecoded partly as analysis and partly as a musical diary: my way of following the lyrics, noticing what stays with me, and writing down what I hear.
